Many of you have wondered about the social media capabilities within our all-in-one sales and marketing software. You might not have known, but we have a variety of beneficial social media marketing tools you can use to promote your small business.

In addition, we now have GroSocial as a part of our social media marketing lineup, helping you attract traffic, generate leads and increase sales.

In the spirit of Social Media Month, this guide highlights Infusionsoft’s social media features and best practices. We have a unique approach to our features, which I’ll get into below. Unlike other social media services available today, we help small businesses integrate social media tightly into their existing marketing activities and align their social media efforts in ways to drive results.

Here are insights about our social media features and tips to use them effectively.

Share Your Emails with Friends

Add social sharing to email messages in Infusionsoft

Within emails that you create with the drag-and-drop Email Builder (now, a function within the Campaign Builder), you can easily add a snippet that encourages recipients to share the email with their social networks. When you drag over the “Social” snippet into your email, you will be presented with several options.

I strongly recommend that you become intentional when you add social sharing to emails and provide a specific call to action that people will actually want to act on. That is, adding social sharing to every email loses its effect. A prudent and effective use would be when someone signs up to download a free report, a few days later, ask them for their opinion and if they could help share it out with their networks.

Promote Your Social Presence

Increase your reach by promoting your social media sites with Infusionsoft.

You can easily promote your company’s Facebook, Twitter and blog within the snippet. When you check the boxes and fill in the details, you can add these to your email in seconds.

As a best practice, I recommend to detail why someone would want to like or follow your brand on social networks. Be specific. Perhaps, you could run a social media promotion? Hint, hint!

Automated Actions from Social Intent

Run actions when people share your email across social media.

When someone clicks on “Like”, “Tweet” or “+1” from an email, you can automatically apply actions on their Contact Record. In other words, you can identify which of your contacts are active in social media and provide them specific campaigns around their intent to share your content across Facebook, Twitter or Google Plus.

I recommend that you configure customized actions for each social network and add a task for a member of your team to reach out and send a thank you or a warm note of gratitude to that person over social media. If nothing else, at least apply a tag so you can later segment your list by those who clicked on specific social networks. This is a great way to scale the human factor and stay in touch.

Just a note on automated actions and social media – we don’t offer the ability to automatically send messages to people via social media. We’re all about helping you scale and grow relationships with customers.

Publish Web Forms and Email Broadcasts to Social Networks

Share your content easily with social networks from Infusionsoft.

We know you’re busy. Between working on your business, taking care of your family and hustling to get even more customers, you might forget to communicate to your social audience. Infusionsoft makes it easy to share your newly created lead generation Web Forms or your hottest email marketing broadcasts with your social networks.

I recommend to use this feature sparingly only because not all Web Forms and email messages are necessarily relevant to your audience. But it’s a great time-saver so you can focus on the work that really matters.

Social Media Lead Generation

Generate leads quickly with Infusionsoft from social media.

For emails that are shared by your recipients, you can attract sign-ups to your email list easily. Your recipients won’t see the form, but only their social networks’ will see it when they click on the link. It’s a great way to not only increase your reach, but to actually do lead generation easily within social media.

I recommend for emails featuring social sharing snippets, you put in the time to link the emails to an appropriate Web Form.
